We are currently focused on the following topics:
- Genetic variability underlying adaptation of amphibians and reptiles to latitudinal and altitudinal environmental gradients in West Siberia
- Distribution and genetic variability of emerging pathogens in ectothermic vertebrates, especially ranaviruses
- Patterns of gut and skin microbiome variability in fish and amphibians – in collaboration with Research group of physiology and genetics of hydrobionts of ISEA SB RAS, Novosibirsk
- Evolution of venom gland toxin transcripts in Old World pit vipers (genus Gloydius)
- Phylogeographic studies in Siberia and Central Asia – in collaboration with Dr. Boris Levin (Papanin Institute for Biology of Inland Waters, Russian Academy of Sciences) and Dr. Oleg Ermakov (Penza State University, Russia)
